ISUenergy 2026 Grant Program

In addition to the generous support of our partner BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, which is the main sponsor of ISUenergy 2026 and ZHAW EELISA, which specifically supports students from EELISA universities, we are delighted to announce that in May 2026, a third sponsor joined our initiative to establish a special funding program for bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students in the two categories of Excellence and Mobility.

This program is designed to make it easier for dedicated, talented and internationally minded participants to attend ISUenergy 2026.

Whether you have exceptional achievements in your academic studies or in the field of sustainability or whether you are facing high travel costs, we want to help bring you together those of you who wish to actively contribute to a sustainable energy future.

Available Grant Categories

1. Excellence Grants

A limited number of grants for outstanding participants.

The maximum grant amount for bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students is CHF 250.00. The grant amount is not paid out but is applied toward the respective registration fee.

These grants are intended for applicants who demonstrate exceptional:

• academic achievements and awards
• successful contributions to innovative projects and/or research
• exceptional engagement in the fields of energy, sustainability and innovation

The Excellence Grants aim to recognize and encourage future leaders committed to shaping a sustainable future.

2. Mobility Grants

Travel support for international participants.

The maximum grant amount for bachelor's and master’s is CHF 500.00, for PhD students CHF 300.00. The grant amount is not paid out but is applied toward the respective registration fee.

Mobility Grants are intended to support participants who face significant travel and mobility costs when attending ISUenergy 2026.

We want to ensure that geographical distance and financial barriers do not prevent excellent and dedicated young students from participating in international collaboration and exchange.

How to Apply

To apply for the funding program, please:

1. Complete the Application for Funding Participants of ISUenergy 2026 form in full
2. Sign the application form
3. Upload it together with your online application under “Other Attachments”

Applications will be reviewed by the ISUres Board.

Applicants will normally be informed about the funding decision within 5 days of submission.

Important Information

There is no legal entitlement to funding through the ISUres grant program.

• withdrawal of granted funding
• exclusion from ISUenergy events
